FRIDAY 10th November – EFG London Jazz Festival: PIXEL (Norway) + TORI HANDSLEY TRIO

PIXEL – Leading Norwegian powerhouse indie-jazz ensemble featuring ELLEN ANDREA WANG double bass/vocals, JONAS KILMORK VEMØY trumpet, HARALD LASSEN tenor sax/vocals & JON AUDUN BAAR drums (with everyone contributing vocals). After playing sold out concerts last year at Ronnie Scott´s, Bimhuis in Amsterdam and Lantaren Venster in Rotterdam Norway´s award-winning band Pixel most recently toured to promote their third album, Golden Years. TORI HANDSLEY TRIO – Harpist TORI HANDSLEY has been garnering great acclaim over the past year with her progressive unit exploring the spiritual jazz of soul-jazz great Dorothy Ashby and integrating groove, soul and form within the jazz context and beyond. Opening for Pixel will be her trio featuring regular bandmate and ‘Acoustic Ladyland’s current bassist RUTH GOLLER plus first-call drummer DAVE DE ROSE who has collaborated with Moloko, Mark Ronson, Mulatu Astatke and Kaidi Thatham.
