Two Vocalists named Emily, one summer night!
As children Emily Wolf and Emily Dankworth hung around the Guildhall School of Music as their Dads taught Jazz. Aged 5-10 they spent most of their time getting into trouble, finding alleyways and places to explore throughout the building. Miraculously they both grew up to study Jazz Vocals themselves and now perform regularly around London and NYC. Still fast friends this is their return gig TOGETHER to celebrate music and the summer season at the Spice of Life in Soho! EMILY WOLF, EMILY DANKWORTH vocals, JAMIE LEEMING guitar, MARIA CHIARA ARGIRÓ piano, TBC bass & CORRIE DICK drums + SPECIAL GUESTS. THE PROGRAM WILL BE A BLEND OF JAZZ-SOUL ORIGINAL TUNES AND ARRANGEMENTS BY WOLF, A DIZZYING COCKTAIL OF JAZZ AND WORLD MATERIAL BY DANKWORTH – EMILY DANKWORTH was surrounded by music from an early age, the granddaughter of Johnny Dankworth and Cleo Laine and daughter of Bassist Alec Dankworth. Emily graduated with an MMus from the Guildhall school and now is amongst London’s top emerging musical talents. Dankworth has perfomed in many prestigious venues and TV appearances both as a ensemble member and solo Vocalist. EMILY WOLF- Originally born in London, with a music educator father Scott Stroman grew up around music and moved to USA to study Jazz Voice at the New England Conservatory. Now living in NYC Wolf has been writing and performing with her band the Emily Wolf Project. Following the release of her debut recording, Wolf was pronounced ‘Deserving of the one-to-watch tag’ by JazzInside Magazine.
